Steve Molnar
Steve Molnar, President of MCD, Inc. learned the construction trade from the ground up by working as a journeyman in the trades where he has specialized in concrete, framing and finish work. He has also worked as an engineer, estimator and superintendent on several area residential and commercial projects with Maino Construction and Midland Pacific Building Corporation in San Luis Obispo County. Additionally, Steve is an artist, with an artist’s eye for design and beauty.
Steve Molnar graduated in 1992 from California Polytechnic State University – from the school of Architecture and Environmental Design with a concentration in Construction Management. Steve is also LEED certified.
In 1993 Steve started the company Molnar Construction & Development, Inc.. The focus of Molnar Construction Development, Inc. was the construction of custom single family residences on coastal sites, particularly on the Central Coast of California. The philosophy behind MCD, Inc. is to build high quality homes that would stand out from those of other builders—homes whose quality of design, materials, construction, construction management and siting would result in high-end unique properties through the tests of time.
It all begins with site selection and/or the property that has been chosen. Each future home site is then developed as if it were a custom home being built personally for a member of the design team while integrating the clients wants and needs. Design, architecture and layout are individualized to take advantage of views, topography and solar access. We also offer an interior design professional at all levels to help facilitate the owner’s needs and wants with the latest interior design trends.
It is absolutely critical that careful sequencing and planning are procured in order to assure the ultimate end result. Tracking budget/time while maintaining the high quality of craftsmanship is very important to the entire Team! Furthermore, the finest building materials are carefully researched and then selected for use in each particular project. The quality of materials and construction are never compromised.

Steve personally supervises each project, assessing and perfecting the outcome of the design at every step. Steve, along with the others, will spell out changes prior to the work being completed avoiding costly budget additions and timely constraints. We take budget tracking very serious while maintaining the owner’s expectations on total budget. An itemized cost and schedule will be produced at the beginning which will set the parameters for the rest of the project. We deeply value the integrity of quality homebuilding.
